Maladaptive Daydreaming and motivation - Stage 1

Thank you for your interest in our study!

The study has two stages, and you can choose whether to participate in the second stage at the end of the first. You’re welcome to complete only the first stage if you prefer.

Stage 1:

  • Complete short questionnaires about your daydreaming, motivation, psychological needs, and negative experiences, such as symptoms of depression.

  • It should take 20–30 minutes.

  • You can withdraw at any time by closing your browser, and incomplete responses will not be analyzed.

  • You can save your answers and continue later if needed.

At the end of Stage 1, you’ll see a link to a separate site where you can:

  • Read more about Stage 2.
  • Decide whether to join Stage 2.

  • Read information about data protection (GDPR/RODO).

  • Share your email address.

  • Complete a consent form for the processing of your personal data.

Stage 2:

  • Focus on a goal you want to achieve over the next 10 days.

  • Each evening, report on your daydreaming, motivation, psychological needs, and goal progress.

  • Participants who complete Stage 2 may receive a $20 compensation.

  • Create a Prolific account at the end of the study to facilitate the distribution of the compensation.
